Bargain gadget. December 2, 2008 Enormous Sage (Bedford, UK.) I ordered this after being warned that pictures would take a long time (and camera battery power) to download from my new Fuji Camera (S5800) Well, this little gadget works superbly with the SDHC cards it uses, and even with the old style SmartMedia card from my ancient FinePix 2600, which downloads at a much higher speed than simply plugging into the camera via USB as I used to. The plastic casing on the reader is a bit cheap and easily scratched, but I can't really complain at this price! It even comes with its own short USB cable, so it's ready to go : I just plugged it into my USB port and Windows XP did the rest. I'm pleased with this little gadget, and it arrived in the post very quickly too!
Wonderful! November 3, 2008 Mr. P. D. Humphreys (Swindon, UK) This is a superb little device. I use different digital cameras, and with this I don't need to install any software for any camera, I just stick the card in the reader, and it's instantly visible on my PC as a disk drive. The device is very fast, and very cheap. Who could ask for more?
Cool product October 13, 2008 Matthew brewer (christchurch Dorset) This little device is great I am using it for compact flash, this has rails to guide the card into the port properly unlike some. If you need a card reader this one is fantastic.
Quality at a low price October 7, 2008 tsl04 (UK) If you've never used a card reader to upload your photos before, they are invaluable. No need to connect your camera up to your PC, no drain on the battery while the files copy across, and, certainly in the case of my both my Canon D-SLR and Panasonic compact, it does the job significantly more quickly than plugging my camera in direct. USB card readers don't need to be fancy - just reliable - and this Hama product does the job quickly, efficiently and with a minimum of fuss, all for a bargain price. Simply plug and play, and off you go. There's really very little else that needs to be said!
Why pay more? September 25, 2008 Mr. Ian K. Travis (Bolton, Lancs) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the bargain of the year. This thing will read 35 (yes, 35!) different card types, and all you do is plug it in your USB port. It's fast, too - no lag on drag'n'drop at all. And it's less than a fiver... what more do you want? Jam on it?
