Cable prone to malfunction - beware! November 21, 2008 L. Walmsley This is the first review I've written and am doing so to warn people about a recurring problem I've had with PX100s and PX200s. I've just got a refund for my fourth pair of entry level sennheiser tins, all of which lost sound in one phone due to cable wear. Despite this I keep coming back for more as they're good for the price and they seem to fail consistently within the warrenty period so I've only paid once:) If you can be bothered to keep requesting replacements from amazon/sennheiser then I'd recommend as a buy! As other reviews no doubt mention they leak a lot of sound so don't buy if you like to blast your choons but don't want to annoy fellow commuters. Perhaps they are fine for strolling around but I also use them for running, maybe this is what keeps causing the cable to bite the dust.
At this price, you won't get much better than these... November 19, 2008 F. Mactaggart I was alerted to these headphones after the Which? website reccomended them. I was looking for a pair of affordable headphones which still managed excellent sound quality and comfort and I was not dissappointed by the Sennheiser PX100. I use them whilst walking, commuting and running (for busses). The pads on the inside of the headband make these headphones extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this style over the in-ear buds for comfort too. They are also convenient and portable as they fold to fit a carry case (the case itself is actually not entirely necessary). On top of this, the sound quality is surprisingly good for its depth and bass - the volume isn't dissappointing either. I listen to every genre from classical to jazz and from reggae to metal and everything inbetween, so I'd recommend them for whatever you're listening to. The design is simple and inoffensive, but still stylish. Both the wire and jack plug are perfectly proportioned. However, there are two disadvantages (which are very minor). If, like me, you're iPod headphone socket is damaged (many iPods of late have this problem) then it's not so easy to keep the jack plugged half-way into the iPod (the only solution to the problem). But this is a fault of my iPod and in no way reflects an error of design in the headphones. A more important disadvantage is sound leakage. This is a common problem with headphones of this style and so is difficult to avoid. To conclude: I'd highly recommend these headphones for comfort, portability, sound quality and price, but expect some sound leakage.
Greatest Headphones EVER! November 16, 2008 Richard Blay (Milton Keynes UK) Quite possibly the best pair of headphones you will ever need to purchase. What is so good you ask? Well the price for one, the styling is so cool too as they fold away so neatly and cleverly. Quality is superb and the sound is absolutely brilliant. Took me a while to get used to the bass as it is pretty overwelming at first if your used to lesser tinny cheap headphones. Also they are the most comfortable I have ever worn. Sometimes after my music has stopped I forget I am still wearing them, they really are that comfy. They are so versatile as you can use them for pretty much any sound source from a PC to Ipod. My wife wants a pair of these as she loves them too and is always pinching mine. Buy them you will not be dissapointed.
Best sound for the price but... November 3, 2008 Virtual Ron 5 stars for the sound. Best sound you can get at this price but need to be looked after as the foldable design means the headband is very flimsy and delecate. put in pocket or cramped bag and can end up in bits very quickly.
What - you haven't ordered them yet? November 1, 2008 Kamakiriad (Essex, UK.) If you've got this far and are still undecided (?!) let me tell you this - my other headphones are the former top-of-the-line HD600's with an expensive dedicated amp and you know what? I don't mind using these at all. The sound is astonishingly good for the size/price. There is a hump in the bass response but that's great when listening to the weedy output from an iPOD/Walkman or PC and it should extend your battery life as you won't be so inclined to use the 'Bass Boost' feature (or whatever it's called on your player). Oh, and they are tougher than you think - I took mine round the world 4 years ago and have only just bought second pair after a 'volume control error'. They look flimsy but within reason they are fairly tough. Go get 'em!
