Want the Latest HDTV? Here's how to get it for a f1ver December 3, 2008 Gemma A Christmas is coming so save your cash! Why purchase something you can get for 5. Go to ity.cc/?Mt7jg and sign up. Complete ONE offer - I would recommend Gala Bingo (you know, the one for on tv),as this is cheap and fun (and you might win some money in the process!) If you really don't want to spend, there is a free Lovefilm trial. All companies are well known so there is no risk involved- give it a go! I got my HDTV and many other things this way, so don't miss out. I was a sceptic once but now I am SO glad I gave it a chance. B8C approved this system on their a while back. Many different HDTV's to choose from and they send your gift for Free.
More than just cheap and cheerful, this one's positively sunshiny October 16, 2008 HP Sauce (Essex, England) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Fantastic low price for a 19-inch HD-ready widescreen LCD with Freeview, though an initial glance does make it easy to see where the savings were made. The stand is a bit flimsy, the entire backplane flexes away from you when you push the power lead home, and some of the Freeview features appear to have been implemented as part of a GCSE project. For example, rather than showing a grid full of channels and times like you'd see on any standalone digibox, this Polaroid's electronic program guide (EPG) only shows limited information on one selected channel. It's easily the most useless EPG I've ever seen, and as such means you're missing out on one of the main reasons to go digital. Don't cancel your Radio Times subscription just yet! Thing is, I'm not sure that such things would put me off. I'm still amazed at the vibrant picture, the decent quality sound, and the remote control layout which is a paragon of clarity. I bought this TV for my parents to use in their kitchen, and not only does it blend in perfectly with its surroundings, they can also actually use it and understand it and enjoy it. There's no reason it wouldn't work brilliantly in a bedroom too. So to summarise: THE GOOD + Unbelievably cheap widescreen HDTV + Integrated Freeview + Great picture, great sound + Takes no more than 2 minutes to get set up + Your mum and dad can use it + The right holes for wall mounting + VGA connection means it can double as a 1440x990 monitor + HDMI connection plus a host of others you'll never use (e.g. YPbPr) THE BAD + Alarmingly low quality in places + Program guide a complete joke
Better than expected. October 5, 2008 Mr. L. Joseph (Chelmsford,Essex,GB.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having looked for some time at TV,s at this size, price& colour and not seeing anything that empressed, it was with some caution and trepidation, ordered this set.All I can say is the picture is far better than expected and the ease of start-up was most impressive. The sound is rather 'Tinny',but adjustment to the audio control has improved it. I would also say the delivery was very good, bearing in mind it was free.
Brightness Problem October 2, 2008 T. J. O'loughlin TV is fine apart from having to increase the brightness each time it is switched on, until it warms up. Seems to be less of a problem if the TV is left on standby. Does anyone else have the same problem?
Excellent value September 28, 2008 Simon Haven (Bucks, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered this for my daughter's bedroom. From the reviews I was expecting it to be fairly good but it's better than I expected. Picture quality is excellent, sound is perfectly good for our use (some reviews had said it was a bit tinny), it looks good and, being white, it "disappears" quite well when it's folded back against the wall when not in use. The only area it suffers is in the digital programme guide. Unlike every other digital TV I've owned or seen, this one allows you to see either a list of channels or a list of programmes on the current channel. You can't display a scrolling grid showing 8 or 10 channels with the next few hours of programmes on each. If this was our main TV that would be very annoying but my daughter doesn't mind at all. Despite this, for the price I still have to give it 5 stars. All in all we're very pleased with the set and may be getting another one for her younger sister.
