Cheap and nasty watch August 29, 2008 Aitch. (United Kingdom) It is nothing like the photograph, in reality it is cheap and nasty, poor quality rough suede, machine sewn with ordinary cotton, not waxed. The fastening is really odd and I am sure the holes will stretch and the watch will drop off. Much too large for even the average wrist, I am unable to wear it as my wrist is very slim with no way of reducing the size of the strap to fit. I have offered it to several relations and friends with no takers. Glad I paid just under 12 for it.
looks lush but... July 16, 2008 Tammi Cox (Oxford, England) Yep, I'm with the standard wrist brigade. The stap was rather loose and only kept on by the width of my hand really. I love the look of the watch but being the clutz I am, I managed to get the little straps and leather bits caught on various things and eventually they all snapped leaving me with a tiny little clock face on a small bit of leather strap which I then put a safety pin on and wore on the loop of my jeans. It looked cooler than it sounds folks. The point is, it's a nice watch if you're going out or whatever and aren't into conventional metal strap watches but doesn't stand up to day to day life particularly well.
seems pretty good to me! June 5, 2008 Lucy Weavind (United Kingdom) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I really love this watch, for me, it is the perfect fasionable time piece. It is obviously not going to be as hardwearing as some as it is a FASHION watch. Not a sports watch... However, the design is lovely and the watch part itself is very well made. Very easy to get a new strap for in the long run, which is good because I think it is really pretty. Although it is waterproof (for washing up and showers, no so much swimming although it does cope occationally), I wouldn't advice wearing it in water too much unless you have to. People have said the suede doesn't lask well in water, and perhaps it doesn't, but you wouldn't wear suede shoes in the bath would you? Be sensible with it and will reward you will love life. Sizewise, I have little wrists and find the smaller of the two settings just about ok, any larger and I would have problems but there is space to put another hole in, the same way you would with a belt. Take it to a good tailor/shoe maker and they will be able to help. The only thing that gently worries me about the watch is the clasp, it is a button pop-through in the suede. I have no fears at the moment but over time the hole may stretch and I am worried that it may not hold as well, but only time will tell!! All in all, I think if you are this sort of fashion watch you can't really go wrong for 9!! Go for it, and it is so so pretty :)
stud strap will fail January 18, 2008 S. Baker (Chester, United Kingdom) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have an average wrist too, both settings too loose Main problem tho is the fastening is not a proper stud fix, just a metal nub pushed up through a hole in the suede, Cant see this watch lasting a month, the suede is already grubby after three wearings. Something different tho, if you want a bracelet with a time piece added, Watch keeps good time, have not yet tried it in the shower!
not practical October 29, 2007 bookaholic (UK) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I have an average sized wrist but the two size settings on the strap of this watch were far too big for me, so I had to concoct a rather convoluted way of adjusting the size. The packaging claims that the watch is waterproof so I wore this watch continuously for a couple of months, in and out of showers/baths etc and gradually all the leather straps have weakened and broken. I'm left with the watch face attached only to the beaded straps which still looks quite nice but frequently flips over so I can't read the time. Summary - nice looking watch but not very durable or practical.
