Hilarious November 13, 2008 Julia Royce (UK) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Well my boyfriend (he's a hunk) wore one down the beach for a bet. It was hilarious! Everyone was laughing at him, pointing and staring - and believe me, it wasn't complimentary! He looked ridiculous, and I can't imagine anyone actually looking good in one of these. We have pinned them on the wall above the fireplace as a talking point now. It's the best use you can get out of them. Wear them for a laugh, but for heaven's sake, don't take it seriously!
It is nice! September 25, 2008 JAMIE A. Butcher (Sunny olde England) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Firstly, I cannot believe people have taken the time out to write reviews for the mankini, but as I stumbled across the page and happen to own one, I thought I'd add my own thoughts. There is not much else I can add to these fellows' comments, really!
Not good August 31, 2008 Mr. B. GOOD (London, UK) 9 out of 17 found this review helpful
I wore this item to go swimming at a private members gym I go to regularly. After some complaints my membership was suspended.
Good to Wear if You're into Bad Taste Items and/or Have a Fun Sense of Humour August 21, 2008 G. J. Oxley (Tyne & Wear, England) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I donned my Mankini and strode onto the golden sands of South Shields(!!) Not too many Germans about, but it still got me a lot of attention - teenage girls couldn't stop giggling and quite a few shouted out 'Borat!' However, I wasn't bothered - I was sponsored to wear it and raised money for a good cause. It's now been consigned to the 'Garments worn once, but never again' bin: but that's more a reflection of my innate shyness than any statement on the quality of this garment. Wearing it was a lot of fun, but you've got to have a lot of balls (it helps!) and/or a thick hide to do so, otherwise you could feel REALLY self conscious. I can see groups of lads on holiday all wearing one and having a good laugh with it - there's always safety in numbers! As I only wore it once I can't really comment on the durability, but it supported me OK (and there's a lot to support - I wish!!), even though I get the feeling it may be prone to 'saggage'. Of course, it looks absolutely ridiculous - but that's the whole point. Overall, recommended for those with a larger than life sense of humour.
