We haven't had any problems with this November 19, 2008 Allan Rich (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My six year old daughter loves this. The voice recognition works really well for us. It normally opens first time for her. Her friends have a great time trying to get it to open for them - almost always unsuccessfully. I think the secret is to record the password in the same environment that it will be repeated back e.g. in a quiet bedroom.
XXX DO NOT TAKE THE RISK XXX November 5, 2008 Ms. S. White (Yorkshire) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Please do not take the risk, you will regret it. My ten year old daughter, had never been able to keep anything secret from her brother, who is a year younger, so this seemed ideal for her. It wasn't even a challenge for him,it opens without a password anyway, and the voice recognition doesn't matter it seems to be more about the word. I think it is down to members of the same family, and their voice tending to sound the same. When it is opened it is absolute shabba, a few bits of paper, a pen,and then just a load of empty plastic which you couldn't store anything in anyway. Don't let your daughters put their trust in this, and don't let your sons get into trouble, for something, that they probably thought they could not open.
piece of rubbish November 2, 2008 love books! (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the worst buys I can think of. This journal was hyped up so much that my daughter could not wait to get it. She has had it for ages and despite repeated attempts to get the thing to open, it never does. The voice recognition does not work and it is so frustrating for my child, myself and anyone else who tries to get it to open. Honestly, as the voice recognition is actually the main part of this toy you think the manufacturers would make sure it is actually going to work - but no IT IS RUBBISH AND A WASTE OF MONEY. We have not been able to set date and time either because of this and on the rare occasion it has opened the light inside that makes the writing appear has not worked about half the time either. Please, please dont buy this - you will regret it.
HAHA October 30, 2008 Ms. S. Bowman (Bristol - England - United Kingdom) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
To who ever is selling this item, I have to agree with all the other negative review's because I was just about to click buy to get it for my self because I had enough of my brother and sister looking at the pieces of paper what I wrote on about my feelings toward's a person I felt about they found it and I thought this might help but my mum confinced me into reading the reviews first before buying anything on here, so i'm glad she did and when I read the review's it seemed 9 out of 10 people were disappointed with your fake advertisment so I gave it a second thought about not buying your item.
PLEASE don't waste your money!! October 26, 2008 LancsLass 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter (8) had been asking for this for quite some time. I finally gave in. I honestly wish I hadn't. It has caused alot of frustration and tears. It looks great, pretty colours, nice size, but that is it! It has to recognise your voice (daughters) before it will open (just in case mum/dad wanted to try and peek at what your child have written) The touble is, it doesn't ever recognise my daughters voice. So it simply won't open. It's as simply as that! It's now stuck in one of my daughters drawers. If I hadn't thrown the box away as soon as I'd have bought it, it would have gone back!! A total waste of money.
